Boris Gryzlov Russian State Duma Chairman Boris Gryzlov is negative
on Azerbaijan's decision to declare Russian deputies persona non-grata.
The Azerbaijani Foreign Ministry has declared five Russian State
Duma deputies persona non grata. These include Konstantin Zatulin,
Igor Chernishevski, Kiril Cherkasov, Tatiana Volozhinskaya and Maxim
Mishenko for participation in the monitoring of parliamentary elections
in the "Nagorno Karabakh Republic" held on May 23.
This list included member of the Student Parliament under the State
Duma, international observer Galina Ratnikova, sociopolitical figure
Viktor Sheinis, expert of the Fund of Strategic Culture Andrei Areshev,
The list included the citizens of France, Germany, Argentina, Iran
and several other countries.
"Certainly, I am against such a decision. I think there cannot be
any other opinion. The deputies who were in Karabakh and observed
the elections were not the official delegation of the State Duma.
Nevertheless, as far as I know, there were at least 100 observers from
different countries in Karabakh. Certainly, I am exremely negative
on the decision on Russian deputies", Gryzlov said in Yerevan.
