FIRST SESSION OF ARMENIAN-QATAR INTERAGENCY COMMISSION TO BE HELD THIS YEAR

YEREVAN, June 1, /ARKA/. The first session of the Armenian-Qatar
interagency commission will be held before the end of this year,
Armenian territorial management ministry said in a press release.
It said the agreement to hold it was reached during a meeting in Doha
between the visiting Armenian deputy prime minister and territorial
minister Armen Gevorkian and Qatar State Emir, Sheikh Hamad ben Khalif
al Tani.
The ministry quoted the Emir as saying that Qatar is ready to
support a multilateral partnership with Armenia. He said Qatar is
interested also in joining regional programs in the South Caucasus and
establishing cooperation with private sector. He also spoke about the
possibility of hiring skilled Armenian personnel to work in Qatar,
stressing the positive treatment of Qatar authorities of the local
Armenian community.
Armen Gevorkian for his part spoke about Armenia-designed projects
that could have regional significance. The Armenian ministry said
Armen Gevorkian will attend also an international forum in Doha
entitled Free Trade, Development and Democracy.
