More than 50% of Armenia's labour emigrants go to Russia, Karine
Giunjian from Armenia's statistics office said on May 19. According
to statistical data, in the first quarter of 2010 the number of
people leaving Armenia exceeded the number arriving. Specifically,
1,915 registered Armenian residents returned to the country and 2,813
left it.
Giunjian said that the figures do not tell the whole story as many
people do not register their arrival and departure, so the real
difference in the figures may be greater.
