EVENT DEDICATED TO ARMENIAN GENOCIDE IN TEHRAN

YEREVAN, JUNE 1, ARMENPRESS: On the initiative of Tehran Center for
the Studies of Armenian Issues and the 'Y. Davtyan' Students Union
an event, dedicated to the anniversary of the Armenian Genocide, was
held May 24 at Ararat Armenian Sports Complex. The event, intended
for the Iranian audience, was entitled 'A Crime Remained Unpunished'.
An official from the press and information department of RA Foreign
Affairs Ministry told Armenpress that Iranian political scientist
Mohammad Reza Dabiri, Iranian-Armenian lawyer Talin Bandarii, RA
Ambassador to Iran Grigor Arakelyan and others addressed speeches
during the ceremony. Mr. Grigor Arakelyan expressed his gratitude to
those countries, the parliaments of which recognized the Armenian
Genocide. The Ambassador also said he is grateful to the Islamic
Republic of Iran, which has always given opportunities to the
Iranian-Armenian community for the commemoration of the victims of
the Armenian Genocide.
A number of events where held in Isfahan May 27 and in Tehran May 28
on the Day of the First Republic of Armenia. At Isfahan's Primacy
of the Armenian Diocese the Armenian Ambassador met with several
representatives of the national authorities of the diocese, the leader
of the diocese bishop Babken Charyan, Vrezh Ter-Martirosyan and other
members of the council of the diocese.
The Armenian Ambassador also visited the office of the Armenian
National Committee (ANC) of Isfahan. Accompanied by Noel Minasyan,
representative of ARF Isfahan's Central Committee, and Ashot Davtyan,
chairman of the Central Committee, RA Ambassador toured in the
territory of the office and talked to the activists of the ANC.
Such an event, during which the Armenian Ambassador to Iran Grigor
Arakelyan addressed a speech, was held May 28 at Ararat Sports Complex.
A meeting was held May 29 at the 'Raffi' Union of Tehran. A wide
range of issues on Armenia-Diaspora collaboration, as well as the
participation of the Iranian-Armenians to the projects of RA Diaspora
Ministry were discussed during the meeting.
