Singer Ruben Hakhverdyan and jazz musician Armen Tutunjyan-Chiko
today dwelt on the cultural policy and situation in Armenia.
Dwelling on the low-taste music demand, Chiko says that taste has a
genetic character and it can be developed only a little. According
to him, the solution will be to enhance the quality of the education.
According to Chiko artists can be only educated people. Chiko proposes
to make art education free of charge because students, who do not
study, are not expelled from universities, because they pay.
As to the fact that world famous groups and singers are being invited
to Armenia, Chiko thinks, it is good, but our country spends huge
money to organize those concerts while we have many other issues.
Ruben Hakhverdyan noted that the greater part of our songs are Turkish,
we steel them and sing.
"Our misfortune is that we are not aware of the huge cultural heritage
we have. Now we are again going back to Russians and Russian schools.
Our foreign policy is engaged in adulating Russians", says Hakhverdyan.
According to Hakhverdyan, if we lose our mother language, we will lose
our protective layer. Everything has already been sold to Russians,
only the language is left which is also being sold, we have already
become a province of Russia.
