Armenian foreign policy at the initiative of President of Armenia Serzh
Sargsyan made the world feel sure Turkey isn't a confident partner and
wants "to control things", the Chairman of Constitutional right union
Hayk Babukhanyan said at news conference. According to him Armenia
was right to freeze the normalization process of Armenian-Turkish
ties and Armenia should be ready to restart the negotiations with
Turkey when we're sure the latter's policy has been changed. USA and
Russia understand this fact quite well.
According to Babukhanyan, the power in Turkey may be changed in
the aftermath of further coming parliamentary elections and forces
standing by the army may take the power.
"When Armenia restarts negotiations with Turkey and the second phase of
those negotiations get under way, Armenia should figure out certain
preconditions - recognition of Armenian Genocide, eradication of
Genocide sequences, compensations, recognition of rights of national
minorities and religions rights in Turkey, liberation of occupied
lands by Turkey, etc. We do have a range of demands which arise from
both international rights and our interests," speaker said.
With regard to Karabakh conflict, Babukhanyan said he didn't
see any advancement in the near future. "But I don't want that
advancement even, since we've liberated Karabakh, Karabakh lives and
develops. The only thing to be done is Karabakh should make its policy
more active through mutual visits with Abkhazia, Ossetia, Kosovo,"
Hayk Babukhanyan said.
