YEREVAN, JUNE 14, ARMENPRESS: The presentation of the Bulgarian
translation of French writer Gilbert Sinue's "Yerevan" book, printed
by 'VAKON' publishing house in Sofia, was held June 11 at the hall
of Trakart Cultural Center of Plovdiv, Bulgaria.
An official from the press and information department of RA Foreign
Affairs Ministry told Armenpress that that the book is a documentary
novel, which presents a variety of historical facts and statements of
witnesses about the massacres and the Genocide, committed against the
Armenians by the Ottoman Empire in 1915-22. The facts, heroes, persons,
mentioned in the book, are real. A number of valuable documents,
describing that historical period, were used in the book as well.
RA Ambassador to Bulgaria Mr. Manasaryan was present at the
presentation. He greeted the organizers of the ceremony and expressed
his gratitude to the editor-translator of the book Zlatko Staykovski.
The Ambassador stressed the fact that the novel is a real piece of
fiction, as well as a small archive of documents, which will grant
the readers the opportunity to give an unbiased assessment to the
events of that period and to the barbarity, the Turks committed
against the Armenians.
