June 14, RA Foreign Minister Edward Nalbandian met with his Georgian
counterpart Grigol Vashadze.
The Armenian and Georgian FMs' private meeting was followed by an
enlarged meeting, the RA Foreign Office press service informed NEWS.am.
Grigol Vashadze made a high appraisal of the developing cooperation
with Armenia in various fields, noting that the Georgian authorities
have political will to expand it.
The sides stressed that ministers' regular meetings enable the
implementation of bilateral presidential agreements and elaboration
of new cooperation programs.
Demarcation of the Armenian-Georgian border, as well as issues of
facilitating the population movement in the borderline regions,
was discussed.
Edward Nalbandian highly assessed intensification of cultural ties,
particularly Days of Georgian Culture in Armenia, as well as the
recently held Days of Armenian Culture in Georgia. The sides agreed
to consolidate the progress in bilateral cultural cooperation.
Vashadze and Nalbandian also touched upon the problems of Armenians
in Georgia. In this context the Georgian FM presented the programs
realized by the Government, particularly job creation, construction
of roads, improvement of conditions of educational and cultural
institutions.
The ministers exchanged views on a number of regional and international
issues. The meeting was followed by a joint press conference.
