The EU calls for Armenia and Turkey to ratify the Armenian-Turkish
protocols on normalisation of relations without preconditions, said
Spain's Minister of Foreign Affairs and Cooperation Miguel Angel
Moratinos, who heads the EU delegation to Armenia.
"We urge to ratify the documents without preconditions. We welcome
Armenian President's decision to direct protocols to Parliament. We
also welcome Turkey's President who made a statement on commitment to
normalisation of relations with Armenia," said Miguel Angel Moratinos
at the press conference in Yerevan.
"The EU will maintain dialogue with the two countries to create a
better atmosphere, as this is a critic and historical moment.
"The EU wishes for involvement into the process. We are optimistic
about the process. It's necessary to bring it back to life," Spanish
Minister added.
