Heritage Party today marched from Heritage office to the Statue of
Miasnikyan to commemorate the vicitms of March 1.
They silently passed through Mashtots Avenue and Lusavorich Street
and headed to the Statue with a wreath and flowers. No policeman was
escorting the procession.
Commenting on police actions, Heritage MP Zaruhi Postanjyan said the
police were "concentrated" in the streets of Baghramyan, Demirchyan
and near Matenadaran.
A bus full of red berets was parked near the Heritage office.
"Within the last 2 years RA government has undertaken artificial
steps to grandstand in front of the international community. The
authorities pretend to be attempting to overcome the political crisis
which, as a matter of fact, is not only political but also disruptive
for Armenians," Chairman of Heritage faction Stepan Safaryan said
commenting on the investigation into the March 1 events.
The marchers honoured the memory of victims with a minute of silence
and laid flowers at the memorial.
