HAK leaders started their speeches during today's rally extending
condolence to the victims of March 1, 2008.

Chief editor of Haykakan Zhamanak daily who was recently sentenced
to 7 seven years of prison, also sent a letter of condolence which
was read out for the ralliers.

HAK leaders dwelt on numerous subjects including exposure of the
March 1 clashes, the country's foreign policy, Karabakh conflict, etc.

HAK representative Aram Manukian announced that the Congress would
set up a fact-finding group to size up the property of Armenian
    authorities.

HAK Coordinator Levon Zurabyan said the pro-government forces are in
agony as "Serzh Sargsyan can no longer satisfy their appetite." Levon
Zurabyan also underlined that Armenia should hold an extraordinary
presidential election by the fall of 2010.

Hanrapetutyun (Republic) Party Leader Aram Sargsyan announced that the
authorities had done their utmost in the past two years to conceal the
perpetrators of the March 1 events. Moreover, the Prosecutor-General
continues "fooling" people saying that everything has been done to
    disclose the events.

Regarding the country's foreign policy Aram Sargsyan noted that
Serzh Sargsyan is the only person who benefits from Armenian-Turkish
rapprochement as he is enabled to extend his office.

Following the speech of Armenia's first President Levon Ter-Petrosyan,
HAK started a march to the Statue of Miasnikyan, chanting "Levon,
    President!" "Free, Independent Armenia!"
