/PanARMENIAN.Net/ In the beginning of June, Gyumri will host ceremonial
opening of "Hill of Honor" memorial complex- burial site of Russian
officers killed during 1877-1878 Kars fortress assault.
As the head of Rossotrudnichestvo office in Armenia, Russian Embassy
advisor Victor Krivopuskov told a news conference in Yerevan,
establishment of a memorial to Russian soldiers will become a symbol
of friendship between Russia and Armenia.
Dwelling on Armenia-Russia strategic relations, Russian Embassy
advisor stated that Russia remains true to its allies, ready to fulfill
obligations assumed in case Armenia is threatened with aggression.
"Russian military presence format in Armenia is unlikely to change
in case of Armenia-Turkey border opening," Krivopuskov noted, adding
that Russian troops were stationed in Armenia at the request and
suggestion of RA authorities, with changes to be introduced only in
case of necessity.
