number Edward Nalbandian for talks in Berlin today (15 March). Their
talks focussed, among other issues, on Armenian-Turkish relations and
the current situation in the southern Caucasus against the background
of the Nagorny-Karabakh conflict.
The two foreign ministers agreed that a window of opportunity had
opened in the rapprochement between Armenia and Turkey. Federal
Minister Westerwelle stressed that both sides had to do all they could
to maintain the momentum of rapprochement and to make sure the signed
protocols will be ratified as soon as possible.
Regarding the Nagorny-Karabakh conflict, Federal Minister Westerwelle
underlined the need to comprehensively implement the interim status
along the road to a permanent solution.
