Armenian MP condemns Turkish premier's remarks

Armenian MP condemned today the statements of Turkish prime minister
[Recep Tayyip Erdogan] on possible deportation of Armenian citizens
    from the country.

Mediamax reports that member of oppositional Heritage party Zaruhi
Postanjyan stated intention to send a letter to all PACE members and
express concern in connection with the statements of the Turkish prime
minister. According to her, "Erdogan's statement will by no means
influence the process of normalizing the Armenian-Turkish relations,
which was initially doomed to failure".

Member of Dashnaktsutyun faction Hrayr Karapetyan stated that the
statements of the Turkish prime minister evidence that "the
anti-Armenian style of Ottoman Turkey has not changed in 95 years".
The MP stated that the presence of the issue of international
recognition of the Armenian genocide among the main priorities of
Armenia's foreign policy "is justified and life dictates the necessity
    to stir up that company".

Leader of Dashnaktsutyun faction Vahan Hovhannisyan urged Armenian
citizens residing in Turkey to leave Turkey "in the name of their own
safety", "since Erdogan's words may be perceived in certain Turkish
circles as a signal for anti-Armenian actions".

Leader of ruling Republican Party's faction Galust Sahakyan stated
that such statements of the Turkish prime minister are conditioned by
impunity of the Genocide of 1915, and the Secretary of Prosperous
Armenia faction Aram Safaryan expressed regret that the Turkish prime
minister"uses atavisms of the Ottoman Empire". According to him,
Erdogan's statements contradict the spirit of normalization of
    Armenian-Turkish relations.
