/PanARMENIAN.Net/ The 29th Annual Conference on United States-Turkey
Relations, which is organized by Turkish-American Business Council, or
TAIK, and American-Turkish Council, or ATC, every year in April, has
been postponed.
Foreign Economic Relations Board of Turkey, or DEI.K, stated that the
conference, which was planned to be held in Washington between April
11 and 14, was postponed due to approval of an Armenian Genocide
resolution by the US House Foreign Affairs Committee and the following
developments.
TAIK and ATC made the postponement decision together, added DEI.K.
The two councils expressed sorrow over the postponement of the
conference to another date, and stressed that they had full confidence
in sound commercial and investment relations between Turkey and the
U.S, Hurriyet reported.
On March 4, the US House Foreign Affairs Committee approved Armenian
Genocide resolution H.Res.252.
After adoption of the Armenian Genocide resolution by the US House
Foreign Affairs Committee, Ankara recalled its Ambassador to the US
and cancels a visit of Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan to the
United States scheduled for April 13 and 14.
