/PanARMENIAN.Net/ The Socialist Party of France has slammed Turkish
Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan's threat to evict nearly 100 000
undocumented Armenian workers in retaliation for a vote in Parliament
Swedish recognizing the Armenian Genocide of 1915.
"If executed, the threat would constitute a serious violation of human
rights and is contrary to humanist values of the European Union that
Turkey's ambition to join," said Jean-Christophe Cambadelis, National
Secretary for Europe and International Relations.
"The Socialist Party, originally a law in France, recognized the
Armenian Genocide and strongly condemns the statement of the Prime
Minister of Turkey. If the Democratic Turkey is not responsible for
the crimes committed by the Ottoman Empire, so recognition of Genocide
is a moral requirement," he said.
