In Armenian Revolutionary Federation (Dashnaktsutyun, ARF-D) MP Artsvik
Minasyan's opinion, in order for extraordinary elections to take place,
public consciousness and the electoral system must be ready.
At a press conference today, Minasyan noted that extraordinary
elections are unlikely, however, he doesn't exlude the possibility.
According to him, everyone, including opposition representatives,
should know that extraordinary elections and a change of government
shouldn't be ends in and of themselves.
"I can't understand those statements that extraordinary elections
are necessary and must take place as son as possible. In 2008, the
elections were falsified within the same electoral system; what's
the guarantee that in extraordinary elections, the same thing won't
repeat itself?" said Minasyan.
According to the MP, if essential reform isn't taking place in the
electoral system, if the public isn't being presented with planned
ideological approaches, nothing will come out of extraordinary
elections.
