Turkish Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan's last week statement
that, if necessary, Armenian citizens living illegally in Turkey
would be deported are disconcerting and unacceptable, said EU-Turkey
Joint Parliamentary Committee co-chair Hélène Flautre, according
to Turkish daily Hurriyet.
The EU representative, stressing that Armenian migrants working
illegally in Turkey are deprived of all their rights and are oppressed
by the police, criticized Erdogan's threatening statements, considering
them to be an attempt at "using those people as a lever for pressure
in the process of normalizing Armenia-Turkey relations."
