INTERAGENCY COMMISSION MEETS TO CONSIDER STRATEGIC DEFENSE REVIEW

The recurrent meeting of the interagency commission, coordinating
the RA Strategic Defence Review (SDR), took place at the Ministry
of Defense today. The meeting was chaired by the co-chairs of the
commission - Secretary of the National Security Council of Armenia
Arthur Baghdasaryan and the Minister of Defense, Seyran Ohanyan.
The commission discussed and summed up the work done in the third
phase of the SDR, aimed at defining the planning processes of other
government agencies involved in the defence sphere. The documentation
developed by the commission serves as reliable basis for realizing a
long-term planning of the defence sector. The co-chairs appreciated
the work of the commission and the expert group adjunct to it.
The meeting concluded that the strategic planning documents developed
in this phase should be presented for approval within the agreed
timeframe. The co-chairs gave appropriate instructions for organizing
the further work of the commission and for starting the fourth phase
of the SDR, MOD Department of Information and Public Affairs reported.
