"The Prime Minister is working very well meeting all his
responsibilities. Mr. Sargsyan was nominated by the Republican Party
of Armenia which is headed by the country's president. I have nothing
else to add," Republican Gagik Minasyan said when commenting on Tigran
Sragsyan's alleged resignation.
The Republican MP says the rumours about the premier's resignation
have become somewhat common and traditional.
"Regarding the country's economic policy I must say that the
anti-crisis programme proved efficient," says the chair of the
National Assembly's Standing Committee on Financial-Credit and
Budgetary Affairs. Mr. Minasyan notes that the government did not
downsize any social programme even under the grave crisis of 2009.
"Many powerful countries have cut down their social programmes but
Armenia has not curtailed benefits, salaries and pensions. Rather,
the average salary was increased by 12 percent in the country."
Armenia has registered a 3,1 percent increase of GDP and 9,4 percent
industrial growth which speak of a good crisis management.
"Let me remind you of inflation, deflation, credit of 500 mln dollars
and other credits I am probably unaware of," said Minasyan's opponent,
Karabakh's ex Foreign Minister Arman Melikian.
"Naturally, authorities always speak of their deeds and the opposition
calls attention to their misdeeds, but let me mention that the
country's management system is inefficient and corrupted. The program
aimed at surmounting this problem cannot be considered efficient
either," said Mr. Melikian.
NKR's ex Foreign Minister thinks Armenian needs to take a new path
and everyone should participate in its choice otherwise we shall
encounter inner conflicts.
