Let Authorities Be Aware: Armenian National Congress will Meet Despite Obstacles
12:28 - 27.03.10
The Armenian National Congress (ANC) will hold a large meeting in
Gyumri by all means, ANC press secretary Arman Musinyan told Tert.am.
`By all means, we will organize a big meeting in Gyumri, let the
authorities be aware of that,' said Musinyan, adding that the ANC is
currently taking all the necessary steps to prepare the meeting.
According to Musinyan the authorities are afraid of the meetings
organized by ANC `but have nothing to do but to reconcile with it.'
Earlier, a meeting was planned to be held between the ANC central
office and its regional office in Gyumri on March 27. The meeting was
set to discuss issues relating both to foreign challenges and domestic
socioeconomic issues caused particularly by the recent increase in gas
and petrol prices in Armenia.
But the meeting will not take place on the day it was planned as the
individuals in charge of securing the two main halls in Gyumri where
the meeting would take place, `under pressure from the authorities,
declined to secure the halls without any real reason.'
