U.S. does not see any alternative to the peace talks over
Nagorno-Karabakh issue that should lead to a peaceful solution to the
conflict, U.S. Embassy Charge d'affaires Donald Lu told journalists
on Tuesday.
"Peace negotiations require political will from both sides. But
Azerbaijani people must be sure that the United States led by its
leaders -- President Obama, Secretary of State Clinton are committed
to resolve this conflict," Trend News quotes Lu as saying.
He also touched upon the appointment of new U.S. Ambassador to
Azerbaijan. U.S. diplomat noted that the absence of U.S. Ambassador is
not a peculiar manifestation of bilateral relations, but is indicative
of bureaucratic hurdles of the system.
Mr. Lu also believes U.S. Ambassador will arrive in Azerbaijan
shortly. He pointed out that he is an experienced diplomat, APA
reports.
