    By the invitation of the RA Minister of Defence Seyran Ohanyan on 26
    March the delegation headed by the deputy prime-minister, minister
    of defence of Czech Republic Martin Bartak arrived in Yerevan on an
    official visit. After the official meeting ceremony at the RA MoD
    Administrative Complex a tete-a-tete of the ministers of defence of
    the two countries took place, which was followed by a broader meeting
    of the delegations. During the meeting the present state and the future
    prospects of the Armenian-Czech cooperation in the defence sector were
    discussed. They underlined the importance of developing the cooperation
    bilaterally, as well as in the frames of international boards.

    The spheres of military industry, international peace, military
    education, and others were emphasized as mutually beneficial spheres
    for cooperation. Agreements were reached about mutual visits and
    exchange of experience and information. Seyran Ohanyan and Martin
    Bartak signed an agreement between the RA Ministry of Defence and the
    Ministry of Defence of Czech Republic on military cooperation. On
    the same day the RA President Serzh Sargsyan received the deputy
    prime-minister, minister of defence of Czech Republic Martin Bartak.

    They expressed an opinion that in the frames of the European and
    Euro Atlantic boards the two countries have a great potential for
    cooperation. The RA President underlined that Armenia realizes the
    importance of active cooperation with Czech Republic in the defence
    sector - the visit of Martin Bartak gives a wonderful chance for
    putting the present intentions into practice. The minister of defence
    of Czech Republic, in his turn, stated that the agreement on military
    cooperation signed in Yerevan opens up new prospects for interactions.

    The RA President via deputy prime-minister Martin Bartak thanked the
    Czech Republic for its objectivity in the Nagorno Kharabakh issue.

    In the frames of the visit the deputy prime-minister, minister
    of defence of Czech Republic Martin Bartak visited Tsitsernakaberd
    (Swallow Fortress) Memorial in respect to the memory of the victims of
    the Armenian Genocide. The group of businessmen and representatives
    of the military industrial sector visited the RA military industrial
    factories and observed the capacities of this sector. The members
    of the delegation met the RA deputy minister of defence, chief of
    the RA MoD directorate of logistics A. Mirzabekyan and the chiefs of
    the corresponding departments. A number of agreements were reached on
    developing the cooperation in the military industrial sector. In the
    evening of 26 March the delegation headed by the deputy prime-minister,
    minister of defence of Czech Republic Martin Bartak left Yerevan.
