Sergei ParajanovThe Central Partnership film company has published its
plans for the state money received from the Russian Fund in Support
of Cinematography - it is going to make a biopic about the famous
film director Sergei Parajanov.
The film budget makes 3 million euro. The financing will also be
provided by the Interstate Foundation for Humanitarian Cooperation
of the CIS Countries and the Armenian Ministry of Culture.
The film director will be Anna Melikyan whose Mermaid (Rusalka) (2007)
was nominated from Russia for Oscar. The scenario will be written by
Irakli Kvirikadze, who knew Parajanov personally. The protagonist
will be played by Sergey Gazarov. The artist, film director and
scriptwriter Rustam Khamdamov, whose works kept in collections of the
Hermitage and the Tretyakov Gallery were admired by Sergei Parajanov,
will be the art curator of the project.
The work on the film will be launched in autumn 2010, and the shooting
will take place in Moscow, Kiev, Tbilisi, Yerevan, Paris and Rotterdam
in 2011.
