The Turkish leadership should clear itself of the sins of the past,
says Spanish writer Gonzalo Guarch, an author of three books on
the Armenian Genocide. He is convinced that Armenia would be a more
developed country if not the tragic events of 1915.
"I think that today's Turkey is not guilty of the events of 1915 like
today's Germany has nothing to do with Nazism. Many Turkish citizens
today want to normalize the relations with Armenia. Now the Turkish
leadership should clear itself of the sins of the past, which they
refuse to accept," the writer said.
Spaaking about the Armenian-Turkish protocols and the decision to
suspend the process of their ratification, Gonzalo Guarch said "the
protocols do not have a bright future."
With his three books - Armenian Family Tree, Armenian Testament and
White Mountain - the author wants to refresh the memory and make
the world condemn the tragic events that occurred at the turn of the
20th century.
"I also want the Spanish people to know more about the events,"
Gonzalo Guarch said.
The Spanish writer confessed to be in love with Armenia. "I have been
to Armenia twice. I'm in love with Armenia and my wife knows about it,"
the Spanish Writer concluded.
