Tel-Aviv - APA. Chairman of the Azerbaijan State Committee for
Diaspora Activity Nazim Ibrahimov, who is on a visit to Israel,
met with leader of the parliament faction "Israel is Our Home"
Robert Ilatov. Press service of the State Committee told APA that the
prospects of development of bilateral relations, inter-parliamentary
relations and other issues were discussed at the meeting.
Ilatov mentioned the issue of so-called "Armenian genocide" at
the Knesset and said the parliament procedures were selecting the
commission to discuss the draft law on "Armenian genocide". "Most
probably the issue will be discussed at the subcommittee I am leading.
I expressed position of "Israel is Our Home" faction on this issue.
Our party is against any attempt for the discussion of historic
issues. Knesset is not an international court of human rights and
it has no legal and moral right to pass decision on this issue. Our
position is that this issue should be removed from agenda".
