Reception dedicated to the Europe day, featuring members of

international organizations and NGOs, took place at the Ministry of
Foreign Affairs today.
Speaking at the event, Armenian Minister of Foreign Affairs Edward
Nalbandian said: "The ties of Armenia and the Armenian people with
Europe are as old as the European Continent. They date back to the
depth of centuries, to the times when the enlightened sons of the
Armenian nation were participating in the formation of the value
system, which is now called European."
"Today Armenia is a member of two key structures - the Council of
Europe and the Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe,
contributing to their activity and formation of the all-European agenda
on issues of establishment of peace and reinforcement of democracy,"
the Minister said.
"We attach great importance to the continuous deepening of relations
with the European Union. A high-level dialogue and cooperation
exists between the European Union and Armenia. Armenian President's
forthcoming visit to Brussels is aimed at reinforcing and deepening
this cooperation in most different spheres," Minister Nalbandian
stated.
In his remarks the Head of the EU Delegation to Armenia, Raul de
Lucenberger, attached importance to the organization of the joint
