The fire of May 4 in Gyumri's Lalayan Street leveled the house
belonging to the Tsarukyans to the ground. The only things that
"survived" the huge fire were a coffee pot and a few plates.
Fortunately, the family was out during the fire.
The material loss inflicted upon the family is being calculated.
Tsarukyans' neighbours sent for firefighters on seeing flames rising
from the house roof.
"It never rains but it pours," said the neighbours.
Satenik Tsarukyan learnt about the disaster from her neighbours. After
the death of her husband, she shouldered the care of her two
grandchildren. Mrs. Satenik is hardly able to make both ends meet
with her modest pension.
