Green Muse
May 7 2010
A stunning energy efficient tower design covered in a green vegetation
layer, from Slovenian-based OFIS Architecture, was a recent entrant
in the Mercedes Benz Hotel Tower Competition for Yerevan, Armenia.
Comprised of two vertical towers covered in metal mesh with a
living vegetation sheath, the terraced towers are designed to be
energy efficient while still able to withstand the region's frequent
earthquakes.
The All Season's Tent Tower luxurious green design concept offers a
hotel, apartments, a business centre, exhibition hall, restaurants
and bars, plus a fitness centre complete with pool and spa.
The external facade includes solar panels on the atrium roof for energy
harvesting and an embedded geothermal system for heating and cooling.
