High-ranking European officials give assurances that the Eastern
Partnership, which was inaugurated in Prague on May 7, 2009, remains
one of the priorities of the European family.

Catherine Margaret Ashton, EU High Representative for Foreign Affairs
and Security Policy, has repeatedly stated her three priority tasks,
one of them being to establish peace and stability in the region,
Å tefan Fule, Commissioner for Enlargement and European Neighbourhood
Policy, stated in his interview with RFE/RL. He pointed out that
no important role can be played in international life as long as
neighbors do not see the results of policy.

According to him, human rights is the priority in the negotiations
with Armenia. During his visit Å tefan Fule called on the political
leaders to reform the election system and expedite the settlement
of problems caused by the latest presidential election, which will
bring national accord and allow society to realize its potential.

Brussels promises serious financial assistance and a free economic
zone to its European partners in exchange for reforms. Entry visas
will also become available to the partner countries.
