ARMENIAN ECONOMY GROWTH HELPED MAINTAIN EMPLOYMENT RATE

Stabilization and growth of the Armenian economy helped maintain the
employment rate, according to the head of state employment service
at the Ministry of Labor and Social Affairs.
"The number of those who found job totaled 2774 as of May 1, 2009.
This year, the number is 3550, increasing by 28%," Sona Harutyunyan
told a news conference on May 10. "At that he noted that the number of
unemployed made 85 000 as of May 1, 2010 against the 74 000 registered
last year.
The official unemployment index in Armenia is 7.3%. although researches
conducted according to International Labor Organization standards
showed that the real unemployment index is 27.5%.
