Genocide victims can be commemorated through prevention of genocides in
the future and building of a strong and democratic state, an Arstakh
MP said.
"Recently, NKR Public Council called on the Armenian Diaspora
organizations to initiative a worldwide campaign for recognition of
Artsakh independence, what is a security issue for our country.
Recognition of Artsakh would encourage the people to inhabit
the liberated territories and ensure demographic growth," Gegham
Baghdasaryan said during ARF Dashnaktsutyun Hay Day Committees meeting
in Stepanakert.
"Our main task is to gain strength as a independent regional factor.
Diaspora reduces itself to financial aid, although we face other kinds
of challenges. Diaspora prefers to build schools but what we need is
improvement of education quality. We are extremely grateful to all
compatriots who help build our country but it's time to proceed from
fund raising to brainstorm. It's time to collect projects and ideas,
not money. Moreover, our brothers and sisters from Diaspora should feel
free to take part in our state formation, as we have common homeland,"
he said.
