BELGIUM HAILS ARMENIA'S EFFORTS FOR NORMALIZATION OF RELATIONS WITH TURKEY

Newly appointed Belgian Ambassador to Armenia Stephane De Loecker
handed his credentials to Armenian President Serzh Sargsyan.
The Armenian President congratulated the Ambassador on his appointment,
expressing hope that he will contribute to the development of the
Armenian-Belgian relations. The sides emphasized the importance of
cooperation within the framework of the Eastern Partnership.
The two men also referred to regional problems. Specifically, Amb. de
Locker said that the Belgian government welcomes Armenia's efforts
aimed at normalization of relations with Turkey and supports this
complicated process. At the diplomat's request, Mr. Sargsyan briefed
on Yerevan approaches to the Karabakh conflict settlement.
Besides, the parties discussed the Armenian President's upcoming
visit to Brussels, expressing hope that it will serve as a new impetus
for boosting the Armenian-Belgian relations, the presidential press
service reported.
