NA Deputy Vardan Khachatryan finds it difficult to predict how the
regional developments will affect the process of settlement of the
Karabakh conflict. However, there will be some clarity after the
Russian President's visit to Turkey. According to him, it's also
linked to the Karabakh conflict, since the issue is on the agenda
of discussions.
It would be incorrect to say that Azerbaijan has agreed to the
updated Madrid Principles and it's Armenia's turn to respond, Vardan
Khachatryan told a press conference today.
"We are not entering a qualitatively new stage today, it's the
continuation of the previous phase. Azerbaijan has agreed to the
updated Madrid Principles with one exception - determination of the
status of Nagorno Karabakh. There will be no breakthrough in this
regard," Vardan Khachatryan said.
