    THE MINISTERS OF DEFENCE AND FOREIGN AFFAIRS PARTICIPATED IN THE SITTING OF THE NORTH-ATLANTIC COUNCIL DEVOTED TO ARMENIA-NATOCOOPERATION.

    On 12 May in Brussels, in NATO central headquarters the sitting of
    the the North-Atlantic Council in 28+1 format took place, where RA
    Ministers of Defence eyran Ohanyan, RA Minister of Foreign Affairs
    Edvard Nalbandyan and representatives 28 NATO states participated in.

    Here the Armenian ministers made speeches. Minister of Foreign Affairs
    Nalbandyan talked about different spheres of Armenia-NATO cooperation,
    about the priorities of Armenia's foreign policy, the settlement
    process of Armenian-Turkish relations, the possibilities of settling
    the issue of Artsakh, and about the issues of security and stability
    in the region. In his speech the RA Minister of Defence presented the
    process and perspectives of the reform in the security sphere and in
    the defence system.

    At the sitting of the North-Atlantic Council the deputy chief secretary
    of NATO, as well as 14 representatives from the member countries
    made speeches and highly esteemed the results of the execution of
    the Individual Partnership Action Plan, the progress of the reforms
    in Armenia, and Armenia's participation in peacekeeping activities
    in Kosovo and Afghanistan.

    Then ministers Nalbandyan and Ohanyan answered several questions about
    the country's foreign policy, regional developments, and the reforms
    in different spheres in Armenia. The envoys from NATO member states,
    on behalf of their countries, offered their support in Armenia's
    activities to establish peace, stability and security in the South
    Caucasus region. Prior to the sitting the Armenian ministers had
    met deputy chief secretary of NATO Claudio Bizonyero and discussed
    the Armenian-NATO cooperation in the frames of PfP and Individual
    Partnership Action Plan programs. The Ministers reassured Armenia's
    readiness to continue the mutually beneficial cooperation with NATO.

    The deputy chief secretary of NATO highly esteemed the progress in
    the cooperation with Armenia in some spheres. Claudio Bizonyero also
    thanked Armenia for effectively participating in the peacekeeping
