The 27th FAO regional conference for Europe is launching for a
two-day session, taking place in Armenian capital on May 13-14. The
conference's agenda is the policy responses to challenged in
agriculture and rural development in the Europe and Central Asia
region. The focus is to share experience and enhance cooperation in
the region.
Among participants are Director-General Food and Agriculture
Organization of the United Nations, Dr Jacques Diouf, Armenia's
Minister of Agriculture, Gerasim Alaverdian, and representatives of
53 FAO members and the European-located organisations.
Azerbaijan's Minister of Agriculture Ismad Abasov is also among
sessioners, heading a delegation from Azerbaijan.
