The meeting between Abrahamyan and Cavusoglu focused on normalization
process of Turkish-Armenian relations.
Mevlut Cavusoglu, the Turkish president of the Parliamentary Assembly
of the Council of Europe (PACE), had separate meetings with Armenian
President Serzh Sargsian and Parliament Speaker Hovik Abrahamyan in
Armenian capital of Yerevan on Thursday.
According to news stories in Armenian media, Sargsian said in the
meeting that Cavusoglu's visit would contribute both to relations
between Armenia and the Council of Europe and also to ties between
PACE and Armenian parliament.
Cavusoglu said he disapproves double standards applied against member
countries and praised Armenia's progress with the implementation of
democratic reforms and the fight against corruption.
Armenian leader Sargsyan for his part said that Cavusoglu's visit
will invigorate cooperation between Armenia and the Council of Europe.
Cavusoglu said he aimed to boost relations among member states of
the Council of Europe.
The meeting between Abrahamyan and Cavusoglu focused on normalization

if protocols were approved in the Turkish parliament, Armenia was
ready to restore the process.
