Violations against Journalist Have Drawn Prosecutor General's Interest

A working group has been created upon the order of the Prosecutor
General of the Republic of Armenia, Aghvan Hovsepyan. The group's
objective is to study the materials on encroachments on journalists
from 2008-2010, the cases filed, as well the lawfulness of the
verdicts reached by the courts.
Press Secretary of the Prosecutor General Sona Truzyan told Tert.am
that the Prosecutor's Office has already sent letters to all the
bodies concerned, demanding to provide the working group with all the
necessary documents about cases.
`Relevant decisions will be made as soon as the working group conducts
its study. The above-mentioned three years have conventionally been
chosen. I cannot say yet how many cases are under discussion. There
will be further information about it,' said Truzyan.
