"One of the most important decisions we have taken at the meeting
with honorable President is the establishing of Strategic Cooperation
Council. This organization will cover all spheres and it will be the
most important step towards the future of Turkey and Azerbaijan",
said Turkish Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan at a joint press
conference with the President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev in Baku,
reports the Azerbaijani news agency APA.
Erdogan also said experts from the both countries were seriously
working on this issue.
"I hope we can lay foundation of this organization during the
visit of honorable Aliyev to Istanbul. In parallel, we have to
develop economic relationship further and to move from the existed
point. Azerbaijan could overcome the international financial crisis
and use the opportunities. Turkey also had few losses during the
crisis. Our solidarity will move us to more different level in future."
Speaking about the brotherly relations between Azerbaijan and Turkey
Erdogan reaffirmed the principle of"One nation, two states."
"They are not just words, but rather a reality. We are countries that
build their future by giving strength to each other."
Referring to the Karabakh issue he said that Baku continues to have
a positive approach, and that Ankara cannot remain indifferent to
the issue, and that their views in that relation remain unchanged.
"Azerbaijan continues to have a positive approach over the issue.
Azerbaijan positively reacted to the proposals by the [OSCE] Minsk
Group during the recent talks, while Armenia has not given any answer
over the issue," said Erdogan, adding the OSCE MG should be more
