RA DEPUTY FOREIGN MINISTER ARMAN KIRAKOSYAN MEETS WITH OSCE REPRESENTATIVE ON FREEDOM OF THE MEDIA

YEREVAN, MAY 18, ARMENPRESS: RA Deputy Foreign Minister Arman
Kirakosyan received today the OSCE Representative on Freedom of
the Media Mrs. Dunja Mijatovic. An official from the press and
information department of RA Foreign Affairs Ministry told Armenpress
that RA Deputy Foreign Minister Arman Kirakosyan welcomed the guest
and emphasized the importance of the role the OSCE plays in the
protection of Human Rights and Fundamental Freedoms.
The newly-appointed OSCE Representative on Freedom of the Media
touched upon the measures undertaken in Armenia for the ensuring
of freedom of press. Mrs. Dunja Mijatovic assessed the legislative
reforms as positive.
The speakers discussed issues on further cooperation between Armenia
and OSCE, esp. the Office of OSCE Representative on Freedom of the
Media, in detail and stressed the importance of ensuring regional
cooperation.
