Armenia could become less vulnerable over the Armenia-Turkey
normalization and the settlement of the Nagorno Karabakh conflict
by fixing a certain timetable for the ratification of the Protocols,
member of the Heritage Party Ruben Hakobyan said at a press conference
today.
"Armenia could reach an agreement for fixing a certain deadline
for the ratification of the Protocols, be it one month, two or so,
and should Turkey not ratify them during that period, Armenia must
withdraw its signature [from those documents]. In this case Armenia
will not be vulnerable in the international diplomatic platform and
will be able to decently close down this issue, and not due to his
guilt," said Hakobyan.
"I am saying it again, Armenia will be relatively non-vulnerable
if it really clarifies the reasonable timetable, to withdraw its
signature after that and to exclude, neutralize Turkey's mediation
in the settlement of the Karabakh conflict," explained Hakobyan.
