Eldar Namazov Official Yerevan is interested in the ineffective high
level meetings wishing this issue to lose its urgency.
By protracting the resolution process, official Yerevan does not
voice its position on updated versions of the Madrid principles in an
effort to create the situation for this issue to lose significance,
political scientist Eldar Namazov said.
At a working session in Cracow on 25-26 July 2009 the Minsk Group
co-chairs discussed and adopted updated variants of the Madrid
principles that were later presented to the conflict parties. The
Azerbaijani side agreed on the updated Madrid principles, whole
Armenia still does not give any response protracting the process.
'Official Yerevan is interested in the ineffective high level meetings
wishing this issue to lose its urgency. Official Baku is right in
its unwillingness to continue ineffective meetings with Armenia',
said Eldar Namazov, president of the Public Forum for Azerbaijan.
According to the political scientist, after Yerevan's response,
official Baku will plan its further steps.
The political scientist considers that the ineffective negotiation
process cannot last long. 'If this process is protracted, official
Baku will have to apply a different policy to settle the conflict.
"For this purpose official Baku has both political and legal grounds',
Namazov said.
