100 years ago on May 25 was born writer, translator Khachik Dashtents.
Today on the meeting with the journalists literary critic Davit
Gasparyan mentioned that Khachik Dashtents has entered into the
Armenian literature at the beginning of the 1930, in 1932 the first
book of the writer was published.
"The entrance of the writer was impressive," noted the literary critic
and added that the writer was saved in 1937, because he was able to
come out of that quagmire on time, he went to Moscow to study.
The speaker highly appreciating Khachik Dashtents' works, his
translations, paid a special attention on the writer's novels "Khodeda"
and "The call of the ploughmen".
The literary critic mentioned that the publication of the novel "Call
of the Ploughmen" has passed a very difficult way, with refusals,
publications in journals, problems in the title.
"In 1988 our national rising had many components, on of those
components was the "Call of the Ploughmen", Davit Gasparyan stressed
and added that the number of the Armenian and Russian publications
reaches 200.000.
"Khachik Dashtents is the name which we should preserve and protect
as an image of a writer, a name which has a national mentality,"
stressed Davit Gasparyan.
