The parliamentary elections in Nagorno Karabakh are some sort of
repeating referendum which is being held every 4-5 years, said at
the press conference in Yerevan the Slovak lawmaker, ex speaker of
the Parliament František Mikloško, who is on a visit to Armenia
and was an observer at the elections in NKR.
"Observers made a single assessment following the election in Nagorno
Karabakh, and they said that the elections were free, democratic and
met all the European standards," said František Mikloško adding
that he hadn't observed such active voters anywhere.
The Slovak lawmaker expressed bewilderment that the EU had made a
statement renouncing the elections in Karabakh.
"If there were not elections, then it would first of all mean
capitulation, chaos, leading to the situation out of control --
unacceptable development for the region of such kind. The Euro
commission can make statements after it can find solutions," he said
adding that the EU itself had mired in problems.
