ASHOT OSIPYAN: CONSOLIDATION OF ARMENIAN BANKS WILL CONTINUE

At May 31 news conference, Araratbank CEO Ashot Osipyan forecasted
ongoing consolidation of Armenian commercial banks, characterizing
the latter as natural process.
"Given RA GDP volume and local population size, 11-15 commercial
banks are optimal to Armenia," Ashot Osipyan stated.
On March 31, 2010 Ameriabank and Cascade Bank signed consolidation
agreement.
