Eurovision 2010 is already in the past, but the impressions from
Eurovision-dedicated open air events will long stay with the residents
of Yerevan and Gyumri.
Being the official partner of Eurovision 2010 broadcast, Orange turned
Eurovision into a real city holiday this year. The 29th of May became
the focal point of different events that took place throughout a month.
Starting from 3 pm many games, contests, creative events, dedicated
mainly for children were taking place around Swan Lake, but the adults
also were full of enthusiasm and wish to become the participants
of these events. Later from 9 pm Swan Lake - beautifully decorated
and full of lights and colors - firstly ever in Armenia hosted the
exclusive Eurovision concert with performances of former participants
of Eurovision song contest both Armenian and foreign.
But the main occasion of the day was the live broadcast of Eurovision
2010 which started at midnight and lasted until 3:30 am. The audience,
watching the concert on the big screen, didn't leave their places until
that late hour as they were first provided the chance to support and
encourage the representative of Armenia together.
Also, this year Armenia for the first time joined all-European dance
FlashMob, which took place during the open air concert and united
many young people under "together we can do more" motto of the company.
Within the frames of Hello Oslo initiative an open air music event
full of surprises took place in the Central Square of Gyumri with
participation of well-known DJ Smile and DJ Vakcina.
The four winners of Hello Oslo SMS contest, who flied to Norway before
the second semi-final of Eurovision to participate in the two concerts,
will arrive in Yerevan with fresh impressions.
