Participant states to the OSCE Summit to be held in Astana in December
will reach mutually acceptable formulations even over most sensitive
issues, President of Kazakhstan Nursultan Nazarbaev finds.
"I would like to note that assisting to the resolution of protracted
conflicts in the South Caucasus and Transdnestria has become a serious
challenge for Kazakhstan's chairmanship [at the OSCE]. I am happy to
state that there has been some progress over the settlement of Nagorno
Karabakh conflict within the OSCE Minsk Group. For the first time
during the recent 5 years a group of international experts visited
Nagorno Karabakh under the auspices of OSCE with an aim to assess
the situation on the ground" the Kazakh leader said in an interview
with Euronews.
Touching on the recent trilateral summit of the Armenian, Russian, and
Azerbaijani leaders in Astrakhan, he said that they welcome October 27
joint declaration by Presidents Dmitry Medvedev, Serzh Sargsyan and
Ilham Aliyev and their commitment to the exchange of war prisoners
and the return of dead bodies with the mediation of the OSCE Minsk
Group co-chairs and the International Committee of the Red Cross.
