YEREVAN, NOVEMBER 22, ARMENPRESS: Jubilee exhibition dedicated to the
70th anniversary of outstanding sculptor Benik Petrosyan will take
place November 26-December 6 in the exhibition hall of the Armenian
Artists' Union. The spouse of the sculptor Alis Adamyan speaking to
Armenpress said Benik Petrosyan passed away in a very early age -
at 57 - but he has left a "wide-scale, unique and original heritage".
The exhibition will present the samples of works of different genres
and creative periods of the sculptor. Alis Adamyan noted that though
in the Armenian reality Benik Petrosyan is known as the founder of
miniature carving his art is of various genres - monumental sculptors,
graphics, ceramics, design, etc.
"Today the works of the art figure are in desperate conditions. The
issue of their preservation is very urgent because of the absence
of security, heating, air conditioning systems," Mrs Adamyan said,
adding that many times it was noted about the creation of museum but
till now the issue remains uncertain.
The spouse of the artist says "Benik Petrosyan 70" exhibition is
another occasion to voice the museum issue.
