NO FINE FOR INSULTING ARMENIAN PRESIDENT

The Berlin court returned a verdict imposing a ~@900 fine on Gabib
Abdulayev for insulting Armenian President Serzh Sargsyan.
Gabib Abdulayev, who is living in Germany, was detained on June 22
during an action of protest at the Armenian leader's visit to Berlin.
He was crying out "Sargsyan is a terrorist and murderer". He was
detained and charged with insulting Serzh Sargsyan. The case was
sent to the prosecutor's office, the Azerbaijan-based Media Forum
website reports.
On November 18, the court considered the case and imposed a ~@900 fine
on Gabib Abdulayev. Otherwise he would have been under arrest for 30
days. So Abdulayev has to pay ~@30 for each day. "I am not going to pay
the fine,. I will do my best to appeal against the verdict. Armenian
Ambassador to Germany Armen Martirosyan is one of the witnesses. I
will retain a lawyer and try to get the verdict reversed," he said.
