'BIRD OF 2011 YEAR' STARTS IN ARMENIA

Arminfo. The Armenian Society for the Protection of Birds (BirdLife in
Armenia) invites you to participate in the public voting poll, which
will identify the "Bird of 2011 Year" in Armenia. The aim of the "Bird
of the Year" campaign is to attract the attention of all Armenians to
the conservation of Armenia's birds and their habitats. The program
will plan the conservation and research work for the bird species
which will be elected by a majority of votes. The program will hold
various educational events, aiming to introduce the bird species,
interesting events with participation of students, schoolchildren and
local communities, and will organize distribution of relevant printed
material (posters, calendars, booklets, stickers) bearing the image
of the "Bird of 2011 Year". Please, visit www.aspbirds.org to vote
for your Bird of 2011 Year! At present the leaders of the vote are
Eurasian Black Vulture - 22%, Hoopoe - 16%, and Common Kestrel - 13%.
